My Climbs
From my first fourteener in the Colorado Rockies to Christmas Eve on the Tongariro Alpine Crossing.
I’ve loved exploring the mountains since I was four years old.
Over the years, I’ve had the chance to explore mountains in different parts of the world, each with its own terrain, weather, challenges and incredible views.
Some climbs have pushed me to new heights, while others have surprised me in ways I never expected. Here’s a collection of my favorite recent climbs, the experiences I’ve had along the way, and everything I’ve learned from them.

Story and photos coming soon.

Tongariro Alpine Crossing
Christmas Eve on the Tongariro Alpine Crossing: a 4:45 am start in cold rain, loose scree on the climb, and the Emerald Lakes at sunrise.

Ladakh Climb: Ganda La
Days of acclimatising in Leh, an icy river crossing and a UV index of 13, and why turning back at 14,550 feet still counted as a personal best.

Vaishno Devi Climb
A pilgrimage climb through crowds and summer heat to one of India's most sacred shrines, with the final kilometre walked barefoot.

Avalanche + Ice-Climbing Clinics
Two days near Mount Shasta learning crampons, ice axes, self-arrest and avalanche rescue, ending with a timed mock rescue and an AA1 Level 1 certification.

Olpererhütte, Austria
A rocky trail through alpine meadows to a mountain hut, with views over the Schlegeis Reservoir the whole way up.

Mount Fuji Climb
Up the Fujinomiya trail through fog and volcanic gravel, past a bout of altitude sickness to the summit, then a descent that was harder than the climb.

First Fourteener: Quandary Peak Climb
A pre-dawn start, a strict food-and-water plan for the altitude, and a false summit before the real one above 14,000 feet.

Little Beehive Hike
A busy summer trail above Lake Louise in Banff National Park, past the green water of Mirror Lake to an old fire lookout with views over Lake Louise.

Delta Lake / Lupine Meadows Trail
Black bear cubs, a missed turnoff and a boulder scramble up to a turquoise glacier lake in Grand Teton National Park.

Slaettaratindur Hike
The highest peak in the Faroe Islands: loose scree, wind and fog, a near-vertical final stretch, and facing a fear of heights at the top.

Pulpit Rock Hike
Pulpit Rock (Preikestolen) above Norway's Lysefjord: fog, rain and wind on a steep, slippery trail, and a summit hidden in cloud.

Throwback Thursday: Laguna de los Tres
Looking back at where it all started: a first big hike, aged six, to the lagoon beneath Mount Fitz Roy.
What’s next
The Mountains Ahead
There are still so many places I’d love to climb and trails I’d like to explore. I’m looking forward to planning my next adventure, maybe trekking to Everest Base Camp or summiting Kilimanjaro. Can’t wait to discover new places and hopefully set a few more personal bests along the way.
